Valerie Burinyuy Tafon, is a dynamic AfroJazz Cameroonian Musician. Known on the music Scene as Ronnel Valerie, he is a singer, song writer, Poet and Vocal coach. He holds BSc in Geology with a minor in Environmental science from the University of Buea, Cameroon.
He has been a winner through out his entire musical journey.
In December 2015, he won the bronze medal for the Asale Asale Music festival in Kumba, and in the month of June 2016 he became winner of the Jeunesses Musicales Imagine Cameroon all styles Music competition.
On April 30th , he hit a milestone by leading a team of young people in running the first ever International Jazz Day celebrations in the south West Region of Cameroon in partnership with UNESCO under her goodwill ambassador Herbie Hancock, with aim to encourage tolerance and intercultural dialogue.
In spite of being a gospel artist, he is very philanthropic and has a kind heart.
He has been volunteering as manager of the Jeunesses
Musicales Cameroon (JMC) a national member of Jeunnesses Musicales International (JMI) network known to be the largest youth music network in the world. He has been very instrumental in running Music education programs, vocal workshops, arts camps, song writing workshops and public speaking.
He has been a top act on events like; Day of the African child, World volunteerism day, cultural heritage nights, silicon Mountain tech hubs and has played the role of jury at many talent competitions including the Buea Got talent competition at catholic University.
Valerie recently obtained his badge as one of the Common Wealth 100 Open Source leaders and as an emerging artist, he definitely possesses the skills of not just a musician but an exemplary youth leader. He also just completed the Global Thinkers ‘Telemachus’ Mentoring Programme in 2019.
